Packing List

What kind of clothes you should bring:

Bring clothes for warm, cold, and wet weather (we have had all three in one week before!).

We also want to give you a heads-up on possible clothing-themed days so that you can think ahead and be as creative as possible. Don’t go out and buy anything special – creativity is the key. Possible days include:

  • Superhero day
  • College/university day (You don’t have to be a senior to participate!)
  • Crayon day (where you dress in one “solid” color from head to toe)
  • Cartoon character day

Swimsuits must be modest: trunks for boys (no “speedo” styles) and one-piece suits or “tankinis” for girls (if you don’t own another swimsuit, bring a long, colored t-shirt to wear over top).

Please don’t bring any clothes with offensive pictures or sayings on them. If you wear them, we’ll ask you to go change clothes.

You also want to remember to bring dark-colored clothing for Capture the Flag and a set of clothes that you don’t mind getting messy—really messy—for some possible activities.

Don’t forget a nicer outfit for the concert on Friday night!

What other stuff you should bring:

  1. Your Bible, pen, note pad, and a pencil.
  2. Your voice and any instrument(s), band or orchestral, or guitar that you may want to play.
  3. A garbage bag or two with your name written on it, to make it easy to pack up for home.
  4. Band/Orchestra people: Bring a music stand with your name on it and accessories such as valve oil, extra reeds, drum sticks, mallets, mutes, mouthpieces, etc.
  5. A pillow and sleeping bag (or sheets and blankets).
  6. A flashlight.
  7. Shower and grooming articles.
  8. Money. There is a charge for an all-camp picture (sign up during registration) and for a slideshow DVD. You also might want some money for the Camp Store, which sells T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, jackets, postcards, stamps, pop and candy.
  9. Softball equipment (if you have it) for the all-camp softball game (optional).

Make sure that everything you bring (luggage, instruments, music stands, sporting equipment, etc.) is marked with your name. Use a luggage tag, label, strip of masking tape, whatever you want. Some items get left behind each year. Marking them with your name helps us to identify them and get them back to you as soon as possible.

What to leave at home:

Cell Phones, iPads or other tablet devices, MP3 Players (iPods), Electronic Games, etc., should be left at home. You won’t have time to use them, so why risk losing or breaking them? Also, the cell reception is horrible. (Some have picked up Canadian cell towers and have been charged international rates!)

If any of these kinds of electronic devices are found, they could be taken and held in the Camp Office for the week, and then returned to you on Friday night after the program.

Tobacco products are prohibited on the campgrounds.
